Seems like the office lost a good thing when Dr. Alex Vasserman left. He worked on me and I was very satisfied. I had wanted to change to a dentist downtown, since I'm 67 and a partial invalid, it's where I live. A woman called Barbara Glassman, the receptionist (and widow of the previous owner of the practice), runs the show in every way. All reviews I've seen name her: Need I mention more? Support staff? Went through a terrible illness, I've got a chronic condition, and had to reschedule two cleaning appointments, in advance. Finally healed, for time being, but had to cancel a 3 pm cleaning appt. first thing that morning cause of all-night work. They have a long waiting list. No warning, no penalty, just an email telling me to find another dentist: "Ultimately, this is a business." Dr. Roberts, who seems like a nice guy but alienates a bit with his unkempt appearance (I mean, so close to your mouth), never even worked on me; I only rescheduled appts. with the hygienist. Unless you are a really sick person, you can not understand how marginalized and awful such an action makes you feel. You do the best you can with the cards you're dealt, and they know my health issues. The office website talks about "compassion" in the "tradition" of the deceased Dr. Glassman. But then it's also full of stunning photos of nearby Washington Square and teases about the cool music they play. Again, need I mention more? On the up side, now I'll go to Dr. Vasserman! If there is a supreme being, he/she works in mysterious ways.
