8GET A SECOND OPINION!! I won’t be going back to a Dentist who tries to scare you into getting work done that is not necessary! I am new to SLC and Dr Skinner was recommended to me by a coworker. I had my first visit at Dr. Skinner’s office for a cleaning last week and the hygienist KeIly was very good, but my overall experience left me appalled and angry. After the cleaning, I was surprised to have Dr. Skinner tell me I had decay in several teeth and needed 3 fillings which would have come to around $600 out of pocket. I questioned this because I get regular cleanings and my teeth are fairly healthy but he was insistent that I had decay and needed immediate work done. Dr. Skinner was adamant that stains (which are normal for an almost 50 YO person) in the grooves of my molars were decay when I have always known how decay shows up as black spots on dental X-rays.
