88I do not recommend this office and would like to warn others to re-consider. This office, and Dr. Kajian practice a predatory business. Mehrack Kajian WILL find whatever she can wrong with your teeth, and if there is nothing, she, and her colleagues will CREATE it. As a UC San Diego employee, I received an advertisment and thought I would try this office, since they were so close and I needed a root canal. I was told the procedure would cost $40, which is what I always pay with my HMO, and I agreed. When I was sitting in the dentist chair (Hoa Dao), I was given a list of additional costs which I was never asked to pay with other endodonstist before (I had many root canals done in the past), the new amount came to about $350. (adding "post removal, crown removal") I was not happy about this surprise, but signed the new invoice. After the procedure, I was moved to Mehrack Kajian's chair, she said there was not a lot of tooth left and she needed to proceed with crown lenghtening, for additional cost of approx. $850. The whole amount came to approx. $1200, which I paid out of pocket the same day. I do not know if the crown lengthening was necessary but am now convinced that the need for it was created intentionally. Two months later, I educated myself about my dental benefits, and realized the office should have claimed these costs through my PPO insurance (I have both HMO and PPO). I called them and asked why they didn't. They said they didn't know it was an option, and they would submit it right away. Delta said the office staff submitted two of the procedures for $0 (Delta was not sure why they did that), and the third procedure they did not submit at all.Two weeks later, I was informed by Delta that the office still did not submit the claim. I filed a grievance with Delta Dental. I should not have paid over $1,200 for a root canal with two types of insurance. This office/dentist are absolutely not trustworthy.
