No dentist is perfect and immune from mistakes. You must be assertive about your care. A little bit of gum discomfort occasionally is now a year and a half of daily pain. I ended up being sent to an endodontist to evaluate whether my tooth was cracked. He began the root canal before even discussing. Back to the dentist for a crown. No temporary was put in place. Lots of pain when placing the crown. The crown came off in 9 mths and I had it reglued as a walk-in on the road.
