1An unnecessary filling led to complications, I called the office, but they dismissed it as regular pain. After a few more weeks, I made another appointment to address this. Was told I'd need a crown put on and there was talk of maybe a root canal. Something seemed fishy. I went for a second opinion and was told I needed a cavity filling adjustment. Was done on the spot and I feel a million times better. After reviewing the xrays, the dentist confirmed the filling was not needed.

2I have been going to Dr. Bunce since I was four years old (almost 30 years now) and my entire family (both parents and two sisters) have been going to him, as well. Not one of us has ever had a bad experience at his office. We have followed him to a few different office locations, even! I am not sure how he manages this, but all of his dental hygienists have always been amazing. The entire office is professional and welcoming. They make you feel comfortable when you are scared. I remember when I was about 12 years old, I needed five molars pulled so that I could get braces. Obviously, I was scared, but Dr. Bunce was so good at making me feel safe and I trusted him. I still do trust him no matter what I need to have done. He numbs me up very well when I need fillings and I don't even feel the needle go in when he does it. Unfortunately, I have had to use other dentists when I have lived in other states; I have never had one as good as Dr. Bunce. I have even held off on my dental visits until I'd come back to Minnesota to visit my family, just so I could go to Dr. Bunce.

1I should have heeded the published financial irregularities about this practice. My experience was a very expensive interaction. A filing was ripped from my mouth during the initial prophylaxis. The estimate I received for the restoration double what I knew my insurance would pay. When I objected, a new bill appeared which was closer to my insurance coverage. Following the procedure, I was charged an amount in excess of the quoted amount I received prior to agreeing to treatment. The front desk individual told me that the reason I was charged the initial amount was because the insurance had not paid for my initial visit. Therefore, an additional amount was added to the second procedural visit. There is no such procedural code or billing amount allowable for previous visit financial discrepancies. “A waiting list of referrals would be consulted about any refunds.” The money was confiscated by Dr. Jenkins. Be very aware of what your insurance and cash payments if you select this office.
