I have been living at Jefferson Hills for over a year. I have never been late on rent. This month I accidentally underpaid by $12.30 because we renewed our lease halfway through the month. We asked for a copy of our renewed lease over two months ago. We were told that it would be sent to us. We have still not received it. If we had known that our rent would be $12.30 higher, we certainly would have paid it. Instead, we get an eviction notice left outside our door. No phone call, no email, they didn’t even slide it under our door. Three days ago we received a bill for the $12.30. Last night an eviction notice was left in the hallway outside our door. It said we had 14 days to exit our apartment. After fourteen months of paying rent on time they were ready to evict us over a fee of $12.30 that was three days late. When we went to the office to discuss the eviction letter we treated like we were crazy for taking the letter seriously, even thought the letter very clearly states that we have to be out in fourteen days and it was hand signed by the property manager. Nowhere did the letter mention that we had an option to pay the balance. Once again we were met with very unapologetic staff. About three months ago I received a bill in error, and after three days went by I received a notice stating that Jefferson Hills intended to take me to court over $50 that I didn’t even owe them. Again, I never received a phone call. I called the office and said that I didn’t appreciate coming home to threatening notes, especially when the bill was their error, and the staff was very unapologetic both for the erroneous bill and for the threat letter. I love everything about this building except the staff. The units are clean, parking is great, the gym is a great feature. I hate to be so negative because I really love living here. For the most part we are really happy, but management here is terrible. They are very quick to “send” threats, and by send I mean just leave important documents on the floor outside your apartment so that anyone could walk by and take them. These threats escalate so quickly that they seem to come out of nowhere, it’s like all of a sudden you come home and you’re on the brink of either getting sued or evicted. Jefferson Hills could do a much better job of handling these things. My very first experience with Jefferson Hills was when I showed up with a packed moving van on move in day (as specified in my lease, which I had already signed) and I was told my apartment wasn't ready and that they had no way of knowing when it would be ready. Like many people who relocate to this area, I was moving from out of state which as we all know is very expensive. Every time I called the office for an update it was as if they were hearing about it for the first time. Staff was unapologetic and extremely disorganized. I hoped this first mishap would not be indicative of future experiences with Jefferson Hills, but it was the first of many. This complex is the nicest in the area by far, but it’s almost not worth it because of the management. They are the only feature that keeps me from recommending this complex to a friend.

This dentist has specific rules for “husky” or low income families and is profiling you based on this very sensitive information. My daughter tried to explain that she is a single parent of 2 small children and needed an afternoon appointment because she works full time and one child is in Summer School. She was told they don’t see “husky” or “Medicaid” patients past 11 in the morning. She then had no choice but to take a morning appointment but… Before she could book the appointment, the dentist himself called and told her because she questioned his policy he did not want her bringing her kids to his office. He said “this is my reputation… you obviously question my policies and I can’t risk my reputation ”. Honestly, I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the fact they are on Husky or biracial but to be so afraid of your reputation and to single out the most fragile groups of your customer base is unacceptable!!! Shame on you Dr. Randall Wing …. Future patients, especially
