They will probably say I was a difficult patient, but their way of doing business is ridiculous. Before anyone ever even looked in my mouth or took XRAYS the office manager had the dentist and a hygentist explianing what a scaling is and why I needed it and why I couldn't get a regular cleaning. Twenty minutes I sat there before I was like, "Why are we having this conversation when you haven't even taken an XRAY?" After I was finally given a list of the work I needed done and the cost, I called to set up an appointment and asked if there was a discount for paying cash. Yesenia said, "Yes, you get 5% off if you pay in full." I said ok, made an appointment for the next day. I arrived 10 mins earlier with a check from my parent. (same last name & address.) First I get the run around about the price. Yesenia says she doesn't remember having that conversation. Then I get quoted a different discounted price. I asked why was I getting a different price than the one quoted yesterday. So office manager finally says ok on the price. Then I'm told that they have to speak to my parent and get her DL because the check is not in my name and they would not even start treatment until they spoke to her. I said, "She does not answer the phone, so you'll have to leave a message and wait until she picks it up. I have no idea how quickly that would be. I do not understand why you are asking for payment BEFORE and not starting treatment. Plus she's returning to pick me up." They refused to do anything. The business manager didn't even know how to call the bank and verify funds. I said I was not going to wait 30 minutes, especially since I have never heard of paying ahead of time and the person is coming to pick me up. So then the office manager said she would discharge me as a patient. And I said that's fine with me since I don't like the way they do business. I did manage to get my XRAYS. Sometimes a manager just needs to make a decision about what is the easiest way to please the customer. And I guess they chose to be hardnosed and turned down $4,000 in business. Not to mention that the XRAY tech kept creepily hitting on me during my exam. Even offering to floss my teeth.
