My 5 year old daughter had a traumatic pain on her front teeth, turning the teeth into a purplish red color. As a concerned dad, I took her in to see Dr. Patel. The professionalism shown by her and her staff was exceptional. She took a X-RAY of the jaw and then explained me in layman's term of the root cause of the discoloration. On her suggestion we even agreed to get my daughter's teeth extracted to prevent any infection. Her hands were really surgical on my younger one, pulling out the tooth with no crying from my toddler. My daughter walked out happy with two stickers. I highly recommend Dr. Patel for her professionalism and knowledge..
My dad was having really bad pain in his third molar. The front desk staff was nice enough to squeeze us in for an emergency visit. Dr. Patel and her assistant Yani were phenomenal and they treated my dad really well. Dr. Patel took her time to explain all our options and was really professional. We ended up deciding to extract the 3rd molar. Dr. Patel's hand skills were outstanding. My dad did not even feel pain when she placed local anesthetic. She will surely be our family dentist going forward..
First off, I did like Dr. Patel but there's no way for me to review just the facility, so I have to review the good with the bad. Dr. Patel would get 4 stars from me, but the facility gets 1. While Dr. Patel was nice and professional the one time I saw him, the front desk staff and his assistant were a mess. Unprofessional and distracted. Not only is it difficult to get anyone on the phone, their voice mailbox is constantly full, so you can't leave a message...and there's no email address. The rare times I can get someone on the phone, the receptionists are always very rude and distracted, doing the bare minimum to help out; my one in-person visit wasn't much different. I'm so glad I'm going to another practice, though it's going to be like pulling teeth (har, har) to get my x-rays sent to the next practice. I hope Dr. Patel can go somewhere else; this place doesn't do him justice..
As a patient at Pacific Family Dentistry i had recently gotten a bridge done that following week I had pain and came in to get it looked at. To find out there was cavity under my bridge that was just done a week ago and the tooth needed to be pulled. I feel that this was not responsible and professional as a dentist in the practice field. I paid my share of for this bridge and was very expensive and for someone to not think of how much i was paying to do this to me was not right in my opinion. I have lost faith with Dr. Shin throughout this experience, how can someone not see a cavity bad enough where the tooth was not savable and needed to be pulled instead of robbing me my money and smacking a bridge over it. Was it a scheme to get money from me i feel so, and feel that others should know before going to this dentist for work. My new dentist informed me the tooth could have been saved by getting a root canal and then the bridge could be done over that, why wasn't that done in the first place??.
My experience with Dr. Shin was the best I have had in a dental office. I had an extensive dental procedure (root canal) and Dr. Shin was very thorough in his explainations of the procedure and very caring about my comfort. The care provided was of the highest quality. He and his staff are kind and provide the best dental care. I will refer my family to him for all their dental care. This is the office you want to visit for excellent (and kind) dental care!.
Dr. Shin has been my dentist for about 10 years and has performed many delicate and complex dental procedures on my teeth. Dr. Shin is always careful to explain the procedures and makes sure that I understand and am comfortable with them. I rate Dr Shin 5 stars because he is the most caring, gentle and highly skilled dentist that I have been to in my life. I'm 60 years old and have been to a lot of dentists some of whom fall far short of the excellent treatment that I've been given by Dr. Shin. Recently I've needed advanced dental techniques required for a dental implant and Dr. Shin was happy to provide them to me. Thanks to Dr. Shin I can look forward to enjoying many years of healthy mouth living. Dr. Shin it truly one of the best of the best dentist! Lon C. Kincannon.
