Professional Statement
Stephen Strout graduated from the University of Florida, college of Dentistry in 2001. While in dental school he developed a passion for periodontics and implant dentistry. He continued his education by completing a three year surgical residency at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital with a major focus on Periodontal Plastic Surgery, Guided Tissue Regeneration, and Implant Surgery. While in his residency he acquired a Masters Degree in Oral Biology with his master Thesis on “The Relationship Between Systemic Lupus Erythematous and Periodontal Disease.” He completed an externship in Anesthesiology at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Strout completed a two part rigorous examination process in 2008 to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and continues to participate in over 30 hours of continuing education yearly. His goal is to continually stay up to date with the most current knowledge and technology related to his profession.
Dr. Strout is currently an active member in multiple dental organizations, including, the American Dental Association, Florida Association of Periodontics, American Academy of Periodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, the International Team for Implantology and is the current president of the St. Augustine Dental Society. He lectures to other dentists on how dental implants can improve a patient’s quality of life cosmetically and functionally. Dr. Strout’s goal is to provide the people of North Florida with the most up to date surgical techniques for the treatment of periodontal disease and the placement of dental implants.
