How Patients Feel
POSITIVEPatient Reviews
3I was recommended to Dr. Joel Efron by my Dentist in Flemington, NJ whom I trust 100%. I will be honest in saying that I was a bit hesistant after reading the negative reviews but really glad I went. I did want to start off with the Google User who didn't know if Dr. Efron was his dentist but decided that Dr Efron needed to address his complaint about some insurance paperwork/procedure. That is wrong to leave a scathing review when he may not be responsible. How can you not know which dental surgeon worked on you and then leave something permanent on here. Don't go by this or any other reviews. Here is my honest story from the beginning (yesterday at noon until today at 1:30pm (the next day after surgery). I requested general anesthesia because Dr. Efron was removing two middle teeth from the bottom, and across from each other. One tooth was a remnant of a crown and the other was a silver filling that that popped out leaving the the three remnants of a tooth until there were none. I didn't have any infection or pain but not an easy situation in my opinion. Dr. Efron's staff was kind, patient and understanding since I was 20 minutes late for surgery. I was even more nervous because of that, but the front desk receptionists were smiling up until I went in for surgery. My xray was on a large screen and the assistants took my care very seriously. As they were prepping me for surgery, every move made on me was explained beforehand and during procedure. Dr. Efron is serious about his dentistry too and after making sure I was comfortable, he continued in the same manner. Even when the laughing gas was making me sky high, before administering the general, I could see numerous people moving about to support the job that was done in an hour. I woke up slowly by a nice assistant who welcomed me into my chair, and helped escort me to the waiting room where I had to be chauffered home and attended to for 24 hours. She discussed all care and concerns with him (my dad) because I overheard her say, I wouldn't remember and needed rest. After leaving, I followed all instructions in a booklet that covered any and all concerns and felt only slight discomfort. I stopped bleeding after 2 hours and none from that moment on since I was told to press down on the surgical areas with gauze. Surgery was at 12 noon yesterday, and the numerous gauze pads they supplied me with are only 1/4 used. It is 1:59pm the next afternoon and I had broiled flounder (its soft) and soft avocado for lunch about 30 minutes ago. Eating slowly and making sure to not use the areas where the stitches are. What really impressed me was that Dr. Efron called me personally, at 12noon exactly 24 hrs from surgery to see how I was doing. Very cordial and kind of him to take the time since his practice is very busy. He even asked me if I had any questions, which I did, and if I had anymore to call him at any time. No need for stitch removal because they dissolve. Think I will have a tapioca pudding for dessert, and then rinse with dead sea salt from Israel which is pleasant compared to table salt which makes you gag and leaves a nasty taste. I will go back if I need to in the future. Thank you Dr. Efron and staff. Well done!
