How Patients Feel
POSITIVEPatient Reviews
22Dear Potential New Patients:Don't be fooled by the name of this establishment: "Gentle Dental-Care Relaxation Clinique". There was certainly zero gentle care or relaxation at my last visit. Rather, my last visit turned into a nightmare consisting of the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced at any health clinic.I have been a repeat patient of Dr. Fox for several years now. I didn't see the two star yelp review until I decided to write this review, but after my last experience, I am not surprised one bit at the low rating. On my last visit, Dr. Fox asked me for my credit card to process what I thought was a small copay, but I decided to ask her how much she was charging. She replied as my credit card was in the processing machine: $500 (give or take a few dollars). She did this without informing me of the the rather large amount, which I learned later was covered almost 100 percent by my Delta Insurance. I was quite shocked and politely asked her to bill my insurance, then the situation turned real dark. She replied to me a few days later and said that the payment was not accepted "because my insurance was expired and had lapsed". I thought this was odd because I've never had a lapse in insurance coverage. So I reached out to my insurance company to see what was going on. They said that both of the claims were already paid. This all seems reasonable and something that could be a quick, painless fix. However, this was only the start of countless heated phone calls where she refused to believe that my insurance company covered the visit. Dr. Fox repeatedly "hounded" me for the money. She claimed I was at fault every time until I called my insurance company and three way called with Dr Fox. It wasn't until I had an authority figure from my insurance company tell her that my claim was already paid before she backed down. I hope the reader can extrapolate the extreme resentment I feel towards Dr. Fox now after this experience due to her business practices. The phone calls were extremely abrasive and stressful, and she just wouldn't stop. She continued to talk down to me by telling me "this is a business". I think Dr Fox has a good heart somewhere, but don't be fooled, she is completely focused on only her financial benefit and not patients. She did not care about me as a person. She did not care about my stress levels. She did not care about about anything but the money. She made me feel like I was merely only a vehicle for her to fill her pockets. In conclusion, this review isn't about the money. It's not about the insurance company. It's not about bad customer service. It's not about a bad health clinic visit. It's about being human. It's about basic, fundamental ways humans should interact with one another. People, especially doctors, should treat other people with respect and dignity. This just simply wasn't the case at this office. Best, Ben
