Hoag & Dotsch

I recently saw Dr. Hoag after scheduling difficulties at my last dentist. He conducted a very thorough exam, including MANY photos. I thought it was slightly unusual that I was required to return in order for Dr. Hoag to share his findings, because typically the dentist simply looks at the X-rays and gives a recommendation. When I came back Dr. Hoag had prepared an elaborate presentation with cost breakdowns and all. He found that I had ten cavities and the beginnings of periodontal disease. This seemed odd considering I did not have any cavities a mere 8 months previous. After considering a very expensive treatment plan, I decided to get a second opinion. I saw a highly recommended dentist who found only one cavity and that my gums were in fairly good health. I hope that this was a huge error on Dr. Hoag's part and not an attempt to scam, but needless to say, I will not be returning.
