1Visiting relatives in Missouri & needed to find local dentist. This one looked good on paper, but refused to provide us any care unless we provided our Social Security numbers [SSNs]. Said “they couldn’t confirm insurance coverage” w/o SSNs — which is BS — even though we confirmed coverage w/ our insurers before the appointment & provided proof of current coverage & ID cards. We’ve received dental care in a dozen states over a combined 124 years for my wife & I, and not once were we required to provide our SSNs for any treatment. Ever. Except here. Sadly, this dental prima donna seems obsessed w/ getting as much personal information as possible, including SSNs: a foolish disclosure in this age of identity theft. And of course Kunkel’s office doesn’t guarantee the safety of our information or accept any liability in the event it gets stolen. Of course not. The practice is about protecting its own backside, not yours. We recommend you say “No” & go elsewhere. Definitely not recommended.

1Dr. Caldwell and his staff are extremely personable, helpful, and professional. They got me in quick for an appointment and made sure I was well taken care of. My appointment at Dr. Caldwell\'s office was the first time I had felt relaxed and comfortable at a dentist office.
