When my family dentist, which I visited since childhood, finally retired and sold his practice, my search for a new dentist began. After visiting several, Nikodem easily became my new go-to dentist. This review is for the Hazelwood location, right off of I-270, but I like having a couple of locations to pick from in case my job or residence changes. The parking is somewhat limited, but there are a few spots open at each visit. Once inside, there's friendly front-desk staff, and it's a privilege having Donna as my regular hygienist. She is professional, friendly, and puts me at ease. Where I felt like the hygienist at a different practice was rushing (and maybe not doing a thorough job), she is efficient but still has time to do what feels like a thorough job and educates the patient. At my recent visit, she let me know that I was due for a full x-ray series (5 year series). She actually took the time to check with the front desk for insurance coverage before starting, and then she assured me that it was a digital system with minimal radiation exposure. She knocked them out in no time (very knowledgeable). Even though she was sympathetic to any discomfort (of the mouthpiece), the procedure was really not bad at all! Also, the dentists seem trustworthy, which is key for me. For example, a different dental office had something called a diagnodent which showed I had cavities. Since I normally don't have issues with cavities, I waited for a second opinion. Nikodem hasn't found any issues, even after multiple appointments and the x-ray series. If I ever have a family, having a trustworthy dentist like Nikodem, like my original childhood dentist, would be worth its weight in gold fillings (ha). Thank you Nikodem dental.
