Cedar Dental Practice of Amy M Kiesselbach DDS

This is just based off of my initial appointment from today, but I'll update again once I get a better feel for this practice. Right off the bat - Amy and her team are simply amazing! It's been about 10 years since I've even walked into a dental office, so I was pretty intimidated initially. I filled all of the new patient paperwork online, and the next business day, I got a call to go over the paperwork and schedule my first two appointments. I wish I could remember her name, bu the lady I spoke with was very nice and made sure to go over anything I needed more clarification on. Once we did that, she set me up with my first two appointments. I LOVE that they have the initial consultation to get an overview of what we're dealing with. They were also very accommodating and booked my cleaning for a Saturday, which is very much appreciated! The day before my consultation, they called to confirm that I was still going to make it, and even made sure I had the address and knew how to get to their building. Seeing as how I suck at directions, I'm really grateful they spent the time to explain all of the little nuances of getting to their office. So, the big day was today! Made it to the office in one piece, signed a few more agreements, and I was promptly seen by Alyssa. SUPER sweet lady - was very gentle with the x-rays, and was just overall pleasant. Asked me about my day, and other little tidbits of info. It was nice having someone talk to me about other things outside of my teeth, because I was a bit nervous. The x-rays were very thorough, and didn't take too long, at all! Once she was done with that, Dr. Amy came in shortly after, which I can appreciate her swiftness! Dr. Amy went over my x-rays, my cleaning habits, etc., and then went to looking around my mouth. She was insanely thorough, checking each tooth and just really paying attention to my situation. In the end, I don't need as much work as I thought, but it's definitely going to be an adventure (yay, cavities!). After my exam, the Receptionist was nice enough to go over my insurance with me, and even schedule cavity fillings after my insurance's waiting period, to make sure that they cover some of the costs. I really, really, appreciate that they called my insurance to get the info, and worked with me to make sure I utilize it! Right now, I'm currently waiting for her to email me an estimate of what I should expect to pay after insurance, so I can have an idea of what to expect when I go in. I still have my cleaning in a few days, but so far, this first experience has been nothing short of ideal. I don't think they could've made it easier for me to ease myself back in to maintaining my dental health. Everyone is super friendly, gentle, thorough, and they make sure to work with you, and make sure your insurance works with you, too! So far, I would highly recommend this office if you can use them!
