How Patients Feel

11I recently had a "gum graft" surgery here, and am happy with everything so far! My doctor was Dr. Hoffman, Dr. Weiss's business partner. I was a bit scared at first, knowing what was going to happen in the procedure, but everyone was very kind and reassuring to me, even though I was being a bit of a baby. I didn't feel anything during the procedure, despite being fully conscious, and the rook of my mouth did not hurt at all after. I just keep my eyes closed and breathed through my nose.I don't have a dental phobia or anything, but still, the idea of a gum graft is rather gross so I'm glad they took good care of me. I highly recommend coming here for your gum graft needs. I believe they take most insurance providers; luckily mine covered almost everything, as it is an expensive surgery. My only constructive criticism is pain management. They prescribed me ibuprofen and a special mouthwash, but I think I could have used something stronger a couple days after the procedure. I was able to manage with just the ibuprofen, but a few times I had to take quite a few (800 mg) and feel Vicodin or something like that would have been worth it at that point. But, it was a minor inconvenience, as it was only this bad for a day or two. If you have to have this surgery, it's nothing to be scared of, really.
