Being on Medicare, I got an additional benefit from Kaiser in 2022 that included 2 teeth cleanings. I signed up and went today. I have a good dentist and was getting my teeth cleaned for over 20 years 2x a year. I was concerned about this place and rightly so. They are in the business of upsell first; and patient care second. After wasting an hour of my time Dr Samaan said he would NOT clean my teeth unless I paid extra for a "deep cleaning". He also did not see a cavity that I wanted to get repaired by my quality dentist before going in for a supplemental cleaning; but was unable to, due to scheduling issues. I even texted this place before hand and said I only wanted a cleaning, no upsell but it unfortunately didn't change the outcome of wasted time for both of us. The good news is he lost time and money..I was prepared for this as when I moved to the area as I unfortunately found another one of these places and knew what to expect..
My dad had 11 teeth pulled and dentures made at All Care Dental by the Sea in Port Hueneme. His experience with John Salmaan (aka Tariq Alsalmaan) was a painful nightmare. He was impatient and rushed to pull my dad's teeth before the anesthetic took effect which caused my dad a lot of pain. When I saw my dad over the Christmas holidays, he had loss over 8 pounds because he couldn't eat due to the pain caused by the bad dentures. He told me that Tariq told him he had 2 options: 1) He could shave off some of the bones in my dad's mouth to make the dentures fit but it would cost more money or 2) Wait for 3 weeks and come to see him after Christmas. My dad chose option 2. I called All Care Dental on Monday December 27 to confirm my dad's appointment on Tuesday December 28, and to my surprise, the receptionist told me that my dad didn't have an appointment and that Tariq had traveled to Dubai for the holidays and wouldn't be back until Monday, January 3. She said that Dr. Salmaan could see my dad on Tuesday, January 4. I originally had no choice but to make the appointment, but called back to cancel because we were afraid that Dr. Salman who was traveling overseas could be exposed to Covid 19 Omicron and my dad couldn't take the risk because he has a compromised immune system because he goes to dialysis. I made an emergency appointment for my dad with another dentist, and he verified that the dentures that were made for my dad did not fit and that they would need to be redone. The receptionist told me that Dr. Salman would call me when he got back on Jan. 3, but he never did. I've written an email demanding that All Care Dental by the Sea refund my dad's money for the dentures, but did not get a response. I am going to file a complaint with the Dental Board and will be discussing my dad's legal options with my lawyer. This guy is a horrible dentist. I hope he doesn't do this to you or your loved ones..
Dr. Alsamaan has been a unique find. I have been in treatment to correct several problems.I am so thankful to find this extremely talented dentist..
Patiently takes whatever time is needed to explain; professional yet very warm and comforting; goes out of his way to do his best for patient's well-being. Front office staff is very nice and accommodating; offered to drive me home when I became dizzy after lying down. Assistant is funny yet capable..
Hi again..i just had to add this to my original comment.....i have a serious chronic illness which can be very painful. Because of this i must frequently cancel and change my dental appointments at the last minute. The staff is always kind, understanding and accomodating enabling me to treat my physical illness without compromising my dental care..
Very friendly staff to make you feel very comfortable. The office is beautiful and the Doctor does everything to make your visit as painless as possible. Great having them in the neighborhood..
