5Thoroughly disappointed with a recent encounter with B&H Photo. An order I placed with them was late and going to arrive while I was out of town. Seeing as I needed the equipment while I was out of town we asked them to reroute it. When they confirmed it rerouted to the out of town address I would be at, it still arrived (late) to my billing address (Now the wrong location). While my boyfriend was handling the situation for me seeing as I was on the road, they suggested he overnight ship my package to the out of town address saying they would 'probably' compensate the cost of the overnight shipment. Now that we are calling them and asking for the compensation ($116 worth) B&H Photo is denying the liability for the delay, faulty reroute, and advice for the overnight shipment. Although they "understand" my distress, they will only help with a $25 gift card to their company, which I am sure is offered to anyone that is upset with their business. Not only does this not cover the cost of the additional shipment we were ADVISED to do, but I did not receive all the equipment I needed on time (worth more than I feel comfortable admitting to). Although UPS does play a role in this, B&H Photo is still responsible, as the sender of the package and the company we were depending on to receive the proper equipment. As a freelance photographer trying to grow a business I was depending on this equipment to advance my work. It is completely inappropriate that B&H, a large corporation, is hiding behind their vague policies and deceitful promises and not protecting their clients. It has hurt us financially and professionally. Seeing as they have admitted to "understanding" the financial, professional and even emotional stress that was caused by the situation, they still only want to guarantee our continual business with a dumb $25 B&H Gift card. This does not solve they problem. And they clearly do not care about their customers. I'm returning my equipment. Don't expect my business again.
