How Patients Feel
POSITIVEPatient Reviews
3Yesterday, a young friend asked me about pediatric dentists and my answer was that she absolutely had to see if Dr. MOODY was still around. When checking just now, I noticed too few reviews and that one wasn't very positive... so felt compelled to write this. My kids are a little older now, so its been a few years since our last visit, but I can't imagine that too much has changed... they had a pretty good thing going. On our first visit, I, like another reviewer, was so offended that i couldn't go back with my daughter. How ridiculous! My youngest was only 3!! However, unlike her experience, when I questioned the policy, a very sweet, upbeat hygentist explained very clearly to me that children, especially 4 to 8, tend to be a little more animated for their parents, especially moms. And of course, when our babies start freaking out, we have a tendancy to as well, so the policy existed to promote a smoother process. She said that unlike other pediatric offices she'd worked in, kids there hardly ever even whimpered because they weren't constantly looking at mom's expression. Then she went through exactly what was going to happen. Said she would be 'assigned' to my daughter and another to my older son so they would never experience rotating, unknown people. She assured me that the space was large and open... not a bunch of closed doors, and even let me peak. (Which you should ask for if you're nervous, because it even looks like no dentist office I'd ever seen.) Just the hygentist's excitement, the fact that she talked to the kids, probably more comfortably than she talked to me and the overall friendliness of the staff convinced me to stay and give it a shot. Then she asked the craziest thing... was it alright for my daughter to have her nails painted if she wanted. What? So i sat nervously in the waiting room for maybe 30 minutes when they came out. Both loved it. They had stickers and tattoos and a goody bag with brush, paste, water bottles, floss... and my daughter's nails were painted pale purple... she was very proud... These two never liked going to any appointments ever, except for the dentist. (We even moved 30 miles East and I continued to drive the 50 minutes just to stay...) And Dr. Moody himself was awesome too. Knowledgable, friendly and certainly competent. Highly recommended!
