How Patients Feel
NEGATIVEPatient Reviews
2My dentist closed my invisalign case and basically stopped treatment on my plan becuase it was spreading out over several years. This was due to several moves (one of which was out of state) and job change, and of course lifes unexpected events. I contacted Dr.McRae on several occasons and asked that my invisaglign trays and treatment be transfer to a dentist in my new area. He refused stating that it was his intelectual property and we coudl wait and resume treatment when I was able to make it in. About 1 year ago I went to see Dr.McRae to touch base on my treatment as well as get a cleaning. During this visit he requested that I take x-rays, did the cleaning, and then explained to me that he was stopping treatments on my invisalign and if i wasnted to continue then i woul dneed to start over. Meaning pay $2500 and get a new plan created. I asked about my final set of retainers, I wanted to get them to stop my teeth from moving while i decided what to do. I also had bracket things on my teeth that i asked him about removing., He said both of those were included in my fee i initally paid and would be fulfilled. I was stunned. I felt I was being dropped as a patient, mid treatment, with no resolution. These are my teeth we were talking about. It was not something I took lightly. Well, yesterday I made an appointment to get the brackets removed and a final set of retainers made. I made this apointment at least two weeks prior. When I went to my appointment the receptionist said i would need to pay $450 for the retianers. I explained this should have all been included in my $2500 initally paid. She said it wasn't becuase that case was closed a year ago. I told her that the case shouldn't have been closed if all contractual obligations were not fulfilled. She said no this is the cost they pay and she could talk to the dentist if i wanted. I was so upset. I had taken several hours off work to drive there, all for nothing, and now facing several hours driving back home. I left the office with absolutly no resolution.
