Newport Orthodontics & Children's Dentistry

So far,  not impressed. Our consult was for 3:30. We got here at 3:25 and sat in the waiting room with no one behind the desk to check us in or give us new patient paperwork to start on. At 3:45, we were given the paperwork , and the woman at the desk disappeared again. They are now 25 minutes late for our consult. I've met no one. And when I asked "excuse me, how far behind are you running?" The response was "I don't know, mom." And then back to ignoring us. Wanted to change orthodontists because the one my daughter has been seeing is retiring. I've heard great things about Dr. Kermani, but so far, the service leaves little to be desired. I understand that appointments run late - but it's just rude to have a complete and utter disrespect for you (the customer/client's) time. Will update when (IF) we ever get seen. I was told the entire consult would be about 20 minutes, yet I've now been here for 30 minutes and someone else JUST came back to the desk and told me to fill out the same paperwork I handed in already. I told her "I've completed that - our appointment was for a 1/2 hour ago."  She said "oh" and disappeared again. So we sit.It's 4:18 and the Dr just came in and was VERY nice and informative. And actually very honest - so I'm super grateful for that. Will change the stars to reflect that. Dr was fabulous - staff need some support or to book less patients at once.UPDATE: Dr Karmani just called me to follow up on my appointment. She was so sorry that we waited. She admitted they had a staff member out for a sickness but said that was not an excuse to leave a client hanging like that. She was genuine and to call me after hours proves so. I really liked her and appreciated her expertise and candor and I'm bummed that the appliances on my daughters braces can't translate so she can see Dr Karmani moving forward. Give this office a chance. And maybe the benefit of the doubt it they are running a bit behind. The staff may need to manage any delays better but the Dr is really great - both in bedside manner and in professionalism. If she could treat my daughter, I'd be on board, despite my unfortunate experience with the staff shortage on my initial visit.
