Best Dentist In City - Dr. Kalpana Kaveti, DMD

Sheu-Lun Jason Mok, DDM

I cannot say clearly enough how bad he is. I had zero pain or discomfort and during a checkup he recommended replacing 2 fillings that were not giving me any issues at all. As soon as the procedure was done he told me I will likely need a root canal on one of them because he had to go very deep to remove all of the previous filling. The nerve stated to die the next morning and I was in extreme pain. I was not about to see him again so I looked up reviews for the best dentists in the area (he was NOT listed among them). this was just before the 4th of July so no practice was open so I could not eat, drink or talk without extreme pain for over a week. Once I was seen, the doctor told me it was such an issue I would have to see an endodontist (oral specialist) to have the root canal. He recommended 2 and the earliest was over a week away. I have a high pain threshold and I cannot stress enough how bad the pain was at that point. My tongue could not graze the tooth without feeling the nerve screaming in pain. I eventually got the root canal and the endodontist gave his medical opinion about the unnecessary work that was done. It seems like "Dr" Mok has a new practice to pay for an I absolutely believe that is why he did the "work" on me that he did. Additionally, the other tooth the he replaced an old filling is now extremely sensitive to hot and cold so it will be a matter of time before I will need a root canal on that one as well. I went in for a cleaning with ZERO issues and have now been in regular pain since June 26 (it's August now), I also now have over $2,000 in bills and regular pain. He is a terrible dentist..

Dr. Brenton Sedon, DDS

Had pain in a molar. Dr Sedon recommended either a root canal or extraction of the tooth since "the nerves were dead" on the tooth. Asked him if he could try a crown and Dr Sedon flat out refused. A few days later I found out I had pneumonia and the head congestion was causing the pain. Pain went away when the pneumonia did. If I would've listened to him, I would have had work done on a perfectly good tooth!!! His inexperience shows..

I have never left a bed review for a company on social media ever, but after going through the proper channels and processing things the right way, I feel like I have no other choice. Honestly, after 2 years I'm just frustrated and angry that this issue is still dragging on. In May of 2019 I went in for a consultation for Invisaline. I finally had insurance that covered adult orthodontia and I was excited to use my benefits. Everything went great until I got to the checkout counter to go over the cost of treatment. Now I use to be a prior authorization specialist, I knew what my coverage was. However, I noticed that the additional 50% off above my maximum benefit had been missing in the calculation. When I inquired, the girl said she saw my lifetime maximum amount, but not the additional 50% coverage. Should I have paid the balance, probably not, but after years (I'm in my 30s) of being extremely embarrassed about my crooked teeth, I was anxious to get started. Plus, I had also worked as a biller and coder, and understood that after the claim was submitted and processed, that I would be reimbursed for any overpayment. So fast forward, I get my aligners and my EOB comes in the mail. It reflects that my responsibility was about half of what I paid, which is what I expected. My next appointment I bring the EOB with me, and am told I have to wait for the insurance company to pay them. Ok, fine. I wait and the insurance company eventually pays them half of their portion. Confused, I contact the insurance company and am explained to that most ortho payments are made in two installments for treatments that are set to exceed 1 year. I knew that my treatment was estimated to be 10 months. I scour my policy and find that it states that treatments under 12 months will be paid in one lump sum. I call the insurance company back and discover that the initial claim hadn't been submitted correctly and a box to specify length of treatment had been left blank. I call Dr. ********** office in an attempt to get them to correct the claim and followed up several times. Nothing happens until after November. Previously I had been covered under my husband's policy. I now had my own policy through the same employer. Same carrier, same plan, same everything. It was sometime around then that I started to get invoices from Dr. ********** office. I check with the doctor's office and find that a payment had been issued, but the check was then canceled due to the termination of my initial policy. I call the insurance company to verify that my new coverage would not be an issue and was told what Dr. ********** office needed to do to get paid. I call again trying to coach them through the process of submitting a continuation of coverage claim this time. Nothing happens immediately. After multiple calls to my carrier to see if a corrected claim had been submitted and to the doctor's office to check for updates, a corrected claim eventually came through, however was completely blank and therefore denied. I even filed a grievance with my insurance company and still have no resolution. Needless to say, they they still have not filed an insurance claim properly and I still don't have my refund, despite a mistake at my insurance carrier that resulted in an overpayment to their office by almost $1000. I like Dr. ******** and the hygienists that I've been in contact with, but I still would not recommend going to this office nor will I be returning myself..

Had my first appointment yesterday for routine cleaning. Staff was very friendly, but 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, the receptionist told me (nicely) that it would be another 10 minute wait. I get if I'm there to see a dentist and they are backed up from a procedure. But, if they're overbooked on hygienists like that, it's disrespectful to clients. Given I didn't have flexibility to continue waiting I left the office. They did follow-up on the phone and offered to schedule right after lunch or first thing in the morning - but as a working professional who works 45 minutes away, that's not a viable approach..
