How Patients Feel

5My youngest son just got his braces off today and his smile is beautiful! Dr.Safirstein was recommended to me by the kids' dentist and i took my oldest son, Max, to see him in 2008. His teeth weren't ready for braces yet but Dr. Joe, as we all call him, started Max's treatment complete with recommendations for dental work and follow-ups. He finally was ready in 2009. Needless to say, his smile is gorgeous. Sam, the youngest, also had to be treated for about 2 years before he got his braces. And it was well worth the wait. Dr. Joe's office is a modern, well-run office in NE Portland. Anyone who has driven NE 33rd would recognize the bike rack out front; it's in the shape of a set of braces. The receptionist, Debbie, a powerhouse of competency, instantly recognizes you when you walk in the door and greets you with a smile. All the technicians are young, energetic and friendly. The "uniform" is jeans and a Dr. Joe t-shirt. They all make an appointment to the orthodontist a welcome experience that you won't dread. Dr. Joe himself is awesome. He is a third-generation orthodontist in his family. His attitude is postive and vibrant. Every Christmas all his patients recieve a card with a new theme that has his face superimposed on whatever celebrity is used for the card. I swear he gets younger every year. His work is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone, kid or adult, looking for a beautiful smile as he does fantastic work. And when you "graduate" from braces to retainer, all the patients get a confetti celebration in the office for that first picture of their beautiful new smile.
