Dr. Chambless is constantly working to further his dental knowledge by attending continuing education classes in excess of what the state board requires, completing over 1300 hours of continuing education to date. He has attended numerous orthodontic classes since graduation, including the Progressive Orthodontic Seminars, which includes over 380 hours of study. In 2008, Dr. Chambless completed the Medical College of Georgia’s Implant Maxi-Course, which focused solely on implant placement and implant restorations. Due to Dr Chambless’ performance in the Maxi-Course, he was one of a select group invited back to attend the Advanced Prosthetic portion of the class.
In July of 2010, Dr. Chambless was awarded his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. This level of achievement is awarded to dentists who have passed a 250 question national exam covering all aspects of general dentistry and who have in excess of 500 hours of continuing education. In October of 2010, Dr. Chambless was also awarded his Associate-Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. This honor is only awarded to dentists who have passed a 150 question written examination and who have orally presented cases to the Academy board in Chicago.
During the summer of 2012, Dr. Chambless attained his IV sedation permit at UAB. He attended over 60 hours of lecture and spent a week in the UAB oral surgery clinic sedating over 20 patients. Dr. Chambless is currently one of the few dentists in our area that is able to offer oral and IV sedation to his patients.
