I was a patient of Dr. Fine in the spring of 2012. I still have my reports from his office. IN MY OPINION, Doctor Fine was unqualified to treat my problem. I had a torn peroneal tendon. Dr. Fine was unable to discern that from the MRI. The report from the radiologist stated that there was thickening of the peroneal tendons. The other doctors I saw were able to read the MRI and detect the tear in one of those tendons. Instead of admitting that he had no idea what he was doing, he continued to do nothing while I languished away with my leg/ankle getting weaker from non use. Eventually I ended up in a wheelchair with both of my legs getting weaker. I spent so much time in limbo from Dr. Fine's dereliction of duty that I strained my other ankle from walking so much on crutches. I am getting ready to have surgery on that ankle in the near future, and I partially blame Dr. Fine for that. Dr. Fine could have administered a cortisone shot, or he could have prescribed an NSAID compounding cream to rub on the injured area. He did nothing. His theory was that since the problem was beyond his comprehension, that it didn't exist. The second time I was seen by him, (May 7th, 2012) he didn't even touch me. A doctor is supposed to 'lay hands' on his patients to heal them. Two days later I saw a foot specialist who couldn't believe that I was not treated for the problem. He injected me with cortisone and stated that I should NOT be walking on the ankle at all. Dr. Fine's report stated that I should just keep walking on it. At no time did Dr. Fine ever just throw up his hands and admit that he didn't know what the heck was going on, but it became clear to me later that he didn't have any idea.
