I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Higgins Dental this week. I originally came in because one of my fillings had fallen out. I was extremely upset/shocked to find out that I needed my 4 wisdom teeth removed as I have never had a tooth removed in my 40 years. In my opinion, Dr. Higgins demonstrated a cavalier and flippant attitude while discussing this with me. While his bedside manner has always been blunt and no nonsense, his attitude during this visit had a profound effect on me. I left the office not only shocked, but sad and in tears. I called the next morning and spoke with the receptionist. I told her that I had a bad experience the day before and wanted to send my records to another practice for a second opinion. Her only response was “Ok, I’ll email you the release form.” I honestly thought she would have wanted to find out why I had a bad visit. I have been a patient of the office since 2012 and have referred many friends and colleagues to his office. I expected to be treated with care and compassion..
So far worst experience ever. I got there and the reception/nurse was so rude and assured me that I was not covered by my insurance. I told her that my insurance was active and as a matter of fact my wife and kids were there 2 weeks ago, to which she responded that was in January, we are in February and your insurance is not active anymore (WTF?) She started arguing with me, cut me short and maintained that I was not covered. I never had such a rude reception. Of course I called my insurance and guess what I was covered. That person was so rude, I was appalled. She would not try to understand me or investigate, she show me my card and kept repeating she called the number and I was not insured. When I said there’s a mistake and I will call the insurance she became condescending, she just cut me short, started arguing with me and told me that she had to cancel my appointment. No recourse. I turned around and probably will not come back and send my wife and kids somewhere else. Way to do business..
BEWARE: In 2018, I went there to do root canal. They charged me up front there but they also sent me another invoice for $131 - which could be missed on the mail. Without further reminder or even a courtesy phone call, they reported to Credit Agency. Funny that, the Credit Agency also didn't call me either. It took me two years to figured that I have a BLACK MARK sitting in my Exceptional Credit History and dented my score significantly. And now I have to watch this mark for another 5 more years. If you think your customer won't pay up a frigging $131, then don't put your hand in their mouth. If you can't make one phone call or send one other invoice reminder..., then I don't know what kind of professional you are - and running a business. Don't ruin your patient's life over a $131..
The office staff is terrible ! Incompetent, rude and very stupid! People do not go there, do not waste your time and effort, please. Looks like the dentist is an incompetent one too, because when I asked the rude guy / office staff/ to ask dr. Anand about my situation/ new patient/, he came back with a totally insane answer- from a dentist, really...? Bad, incompetent people there who are only money hungry, but do not care for patients dental health! If you have more questions, please ask me via email : [email protected],com and I can tell you more. The office staff even asked me very insolently to give him a credit or a debit card and pay for Xrays in advance, before to schedule me an appoitment for a new patient and I have an insurance which covers Xrays. Terrible people!.
They have payment plans, the atmosphere is WONDERFUL and the technology is up to date. I received #SameDayFillings as a #NewPatient.
Never have to wait....very friendly....Always ask how am I.....up to date on all the technology.....and did say very friendly ???.
