How Patients Feel
POSITIVEPatient Reviews
7Frightening. Was there for a cleaning. (Had had one cleaning with them before.) Lamp above me was dirty. Different Hygienist. Took 25 minutes for a basic gum check (usually 10 minute process); forgot the numbers and kept rechecking. When cleaning began, she could not maintain a grip on the cleaning (laser) tool, unable to control the water going into my mouth. Wet gauze wrapped around the cleaning tool for her grip (?!) I became anxious because of her ineptitude. Blood pressure went from 104/72 to 168/89, dizzy, heart racing. Insisted she stop. Hekkert \'stopped by\' to ask, \"Have you ever had this happen before?\" I said \'no.\' He left and never returned. Receptionist, Hekkert\'s wife, only concerned with getting my credit card to refund my money. Sat in car for 1/2 hour to recover. NO follow-up. Called Hekkert - he was defensive, zero EQ, insisted I call him \'doctor,\' instead of using his first name. No listening skills. Raised voice. Never had a dental experience like this before.
