3My husband and I have been extremely dissatisfied with the staff at Dr. Kovanda's office. While the doctor himself was pleasant enough, the entire staff was a huge let down. My husband went in for his new patient appointment and felt that the hygienist was very cold and unwelcoming. She was obviously in a rush and at the end of his appointment he was told he would have to come back to complete his cleaning. He had brought in a current set of full mouth x rays and although my husband expressed to the hygienest several times that he had current x rays in his chart, they began taking a whole new set of films... Once she realized her mistake, she discontinued taking them, but they still billed his insurance for bitewings! I found Dr. Kovanda's office on my husband's insurance website and so I knew that his preventative services would be covered at 100%. However, the front office staff insisted that they were only covered at 80% and required my husband to pay $48 out of pocket the day of his appointment. I called that afternoon and was assured that if his insurance did in fact pay 100% we would be automatically refunded his overpayment amount. When I got the EOB in the mail from his insurance company, the had paid 100% for his appointment (SURPRISE!) so I waited for the check to come in the mail. 2 months later I ended up having to call and request that they send us our money. My husband has absolutely refused to go back to this office, so I went ahead and submitted a request for his dental records... That was 5 days ago and our new office still has't received them.... Overall, our experience has been HIGHLY disappointing,
