Horrible horrible horrible. I'm glad I'm outta there. I had really bad issues and nobody did anything about it. .
A year and a half ago I went to this office for an abscess tooth that required a root canal. Since then my tooth (which should not have any nerves in it now) hurts worse than it did before the root canal and I can't afford to go to another dentist to have it fixed. I spent over $1000 to have this botched job done. In between my 2 root canal appts my son (10 years old) had a check up and cleaning. I was told he had 3 sets of teeth (1 set baby and 2 sets perm) and we should try to get the first set of permanent teeth loosened up to make way for the second set. And, I was told he had a huge cavity on a perfectly white and healthy tooth that would need to be dealt with. My son has been for check ups since going to Smiles Plus, to a different office/dentist of course. He absolutely does not have 3 sets of teeth. If I had listened to Smiles Plus, we would have loosened his perm teeth for nothing and caused irreversible damage. Also, the perfect white tooth that supposedly had the huge cavity is completely healthy and needed no work. I honestly don't think these people have any idea what they are doing. No way I would return or trust anyone in their office to work on any of my family again. I highly suggest to everyone not to put yourself in danger of their malpractice. I called them because my front tooth broke off and I needed it fixed asap! This was the second office I called and they got me in the same morning because no way could I go around with my front tooth broken. They were very nice and I was happy they understood how serious a broken front tooth is. The people there were really good. I don't like dentist anyway but Dr.Clay wasn't bad at all. She told me that my tooth had a cavity that grew to make it break and I ended up needing a cap. She thought it was a deep cavity and that it might need a root canal but I was happy when she told me it didn't need one. When I left I had a temporary cap and I looked normal again! (Thank God!) I will get my permanent cap soon but they get an A+ from me because they really do great work and took care of me right away! I have never went to the dentist and felt so much like family. Dr. Clay and her staff make you feel right at home. They use up to date technology and explain everything to me before they start. My teeth look amazing. I have never felt like I had a more healthy mouth than I do now. I was seeing a very nice older dentist in Newport my entire life (my parents started taking me there). Although he was very nice he didn't explain anything to me, and a few years ago I noticed my gums were always sore and bright red, I was very concerned. A very good friend of mine told me about Smiles Plus and said she loved it, I wanted to atleast give it a try (and I hate change). Right when I called and made the appt. the front desk staff helped me with any insurnace questions I had and I was not even a patient yet!!! (who does this? I didn't think good customer service even existed anymore) I didn't set up an appt. right away I needed to build myself up. A few days later I called and made a first appt. The Hygienist was very thorough. Then it was time for the Dr. to come in. First impression very sweet, and genuine. She gave me a plan to follow to get on the right track and also not kill my budget and after a few visits to the office I felt great. My smiles looks great and most of all my husband even noticed a difference in how I felt about myself. I smile for pictures now and dont feel like everyone is looking at my teeth. I bring my entire family to see Dr. Clay now and she has proven over and over that I have found the right dental home for my family. :-) I have never went to the dentist and felt so much like family.
