In 1974, Rob graduated from Southport High School and enrolled at Indiana University, Bloomington. In 1977, Rob joined the United States Army Medical Corps and was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado. Following in his father’s footsteps, Rob received his doctorate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1987 before beginning private practice in Southport. He later completed postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia and at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Thoman has received Fellowship Awards in both General and Implant dentistry. He also finds time to serve as team dentist for the Indiana Pacers and volunteers as a pilot for Angel-Flight Missions throughout the mid-west.
