How Patients Feel
NEGATIVEPatient Reviews
1I'm writing on behalf of a friend who had an appointment with Dr. Hay. I'm horrified with her experience because he was very cold and rude. In general, he was physically rough. If your mouth is numb and he asks you to close it and to your knowledge you did, but from the numbing agent apparently it was not closed to his satisfaction. He should not then close your mouth for you by force or means of aggression. Also, when he asks you to turn your head and you do, but again it's not to his satisfaction he again uses means of force once again. As a Doctor, he should also be more professional in how he speaks and not make snobby remarks about having a low pain tolerance. He should realize that everyone is different. As a client, you want to feel comfortable with who is taking care of you and be friendly. Sometimes this is established by making small talk which was quickly handled in a unprofessional rude manner with comments such as, "I'm trying to concentrate." The only reason I'm writing this is because I found the whole situation unsettling and wondered if anyone else had similar experiences. In my opinion, as a professional he should be a little bit more considerate and have more manners. He should have more compassion for his clients and develop a more trusting, relaxed client base that he can develop from. Empathy would go a long way.
