My 6 year old daughter and I went to Castlebury Dental on a Groupon for a cleaning/exam/x-rays because we no longer have dental insurance. I have to say that everyone was really, really nice and friendly. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth did an excellent job. I really don't post reviews very often, but feel like this is a serious issue. This first issue was that my daughter was supposed to be schedule after me so that we could stay together while each of us got our teeth cleaned as she was a little nervous about going to a new office. They took her back while I was still getting my teeth cleaned. By time I was finished and got to her room she was pretty much done and not a happy camper. I was told she had 2 cavities and needed several sealants but never got a full report on her overall oral health, x-rays, brushing habits, etc. She was in tears by time we got to the car and now afraid of going to the dentist. I'm not sure what happened other than she said the hygienist wasn't very nice and the dentist hurt her mouth when she was poking around. I was told that I had 5 cavities and needed several sealants redone/fixed. During my cleaning I was told how great and clean my teeth looked and there was just 1 spot the hygienist noticed that the dentist should definitely check. When the dentist came in she just started spouting off dental lingo that I didn't understand and said I had a few cavities and sealants. When I sat up and asked exactly how many, she said 5. I was shocked as I get my teeth cleaned regularly and have never had cavities. I was quoted to have around $1400 in dental work for the both of us. Needless to say I was skeptical after seeing some reviews on here and got a 2nd opinion. All in all, we have a couple of cavities and sealants total, between the two of us. Thank goodness I got a 2nd opinion and will be saving over $1000 dollars!! I always like to assume the best, but am not sure what is going on here.
