How Patients Feel

11He did a root canal for me and it went well. A few months later I had a throbbing pain in a front tooth. My dentist referred me to Dr. Sprague. Dr. Sprague explained each step in the process and patiently assessed my teeth to see if he could isolate the problem. He could not find a cause, and said he would not just randomly do a root canal unless he was sure about a tooth, but prescribed some anti-biotics in case there was a hidden infection. Several months later the same problem flared up and he saw me the next day. Again he spent a lot of time assessing my teeth but could not find a cause. Then he said that sometimes tooth pain might result from a damaged nerve. I do have some spastic nerves, and he suggested I see a nerve specialist to see if that is the cause of my pain. I really hate going to the dentist, but he makes the experience much better than most dentists could ever do.
