LAST WEEK I HAD A 3rd IMPLANT DONE BY DR. PIKUS FAIL. ================================================================= I have had 3 implants performed by Dr Pikus over a 3 year period and ALL of them failed. He was very indifferent in his treatment and didn't seem to care that my implants failed. I had to go back numerous times before my work was done. Upon further research, I discovered that Dr Pikus no longer used the more reliable, industry standard implants manufactured by Nobel Biocare. Instead he switched to less expensive Dentium implant, which has a higher failure rate. Nevertheless, Dr. Pikus raised his prices instead of lowering them. In speaking with several dentist, they attributed failures to the use of Dentium implants. In both instances, Dr Pikus, upon my insistance, used Nobel implants on the second attempt and they both worked. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO PIKUS TO REPAIR THE 3RD FAILURE. When a doctor takes a shortcut to make more money it is obvious to me that the patient, in this case me, is less important than Dr Pikus' profit margin. Doctors such as Pikus should be exposed each and every time they provide less than the best medical care available. I strongly encourgae anyone considering Dr Pikus to reconsider and choose another dentist. For those of you who have had work done by Dr Pikus, verify the implant system he used. If he used Dentium, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. In my opinion, Dr Pikus is untrustworthy and more interested in profit that patient care. Any doctor that can't be trusted, shouldn't have patients. Buyer Beware!!! DR. PIKUS CLOSED HIS PREVIOUS BUSINESS LOCATED ON NASSAU AVE IN MANHASSET. THAT IS WHERE I WAS HIS PATIENT. HE HAS SINCE OPENED LOURDES DENTAL BUT HE IS STILL THE SAME DENTIST. I ASSURE YOU EVERYTHING ABOVE IS 100% TRUE. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE WORK DONE BY DR. PIKUS, YOU ARE TAKING A BIG RISK. REMEMBER, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
