How Patients Feel

2I haven't been to the dentist in years, I woke up one night in terrible pain. I am on Husky health insurance (state) until October when they kick me off because I make too much to qualify now. I arrived at the office, was lucky to be seen immediately because there was a snow storm outside. The Dr. Right off the bat had a problem with me, a prejudice, wasn't sure at first what it was. He asked me \" you look familiar, like you've been here before\". I said no I've never been here. I told him I was in terrible pain I had a broken tooth in the back. He took a look and said I also had cavities, and I should have them filled now. I am Terri fied of the dentist, I said no I'm not ready. He also said I should have the broken tooth capped. I said no I'd rather have it pulled because the oral surgeon will sedate me, I can't handle people and things being in my mouth like that. He automatically assumed I was a junkie and said \" I can't give u narcotics\" I was appalled! I said \" I just came for some antibiotics\". I never asked for narcotics, I was deeply offended. He asked if I wanted my teeth cleaned. I said ok. He was rougher that any dentist or Dr I've ever been too, I was literally fighting him in the chair. Atleast I got the anitbiotics and aquired a while new fear of the dentist
