My gums were probed in a very aggressive and painful way. I’ve had gum measurements done for YEARS and it has never been painful. I’ve always had good oral hygiene, but of course when you force the probe, my readings will be higher, which will make it look on my file like I have gingivitis/gum inflammation. This is so they can upsell me on a deep cleaning, Arestin (an antimicrobial treatment), and a laser treatment. This is 100% insurance fraud as the technician and dentist are creating a false diagnosis in an attempt to bill me and my insurance company for unnecessary procedures. Why would I go through the pain and expense of a deep cleaning if it’s not medically necessary? I declined the deep cleaning and he tried to intimidate me into signing some document. Medical providers take an oath to do no harm. I’ve filed a complaint with the Dental Board of California. I’ve since seen a new dentist who says my oral hygiene is perfectly normal, just like all of my past dentists.
