This extremely profitable Collinsville practice allows me to live in the Edwardsville area, nearby Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. The commute is twelve minutes from my home. St. Louis is thirteen miles from Collinsville and twenty-one miles from home.

The overhead is very low, even though I provide health insurance and 401K for my staff. Our collection rate exceeds 98%. We have 2,500 active patients with a waiting list.

I do crown & bridge, restorative, most endodontics, prophys, cosmetic, partial dentures, some extractions, and basic scaling & root planing. I have no hygienist. All full dentures, upper molar extractions, partial bony and full impactions are referred, as are all orthodontic and more extensive periodontal cases. I work a 39 hour 4-day week (Monday-Thursday) and typically take off an average of 9-10 weeks a year. My patients are largely covered by insurance and I never have advertised.

My building is free standing with 2 asphalted parking lots, 2,050 square feet with 3 operatories - although it could be expanded to 5-6 operatories in the existing structure (with modifications). It is located on a busy street, although easily accessible. There is a sizeable waiting room, private and patient bathrooms, front desk area, private office, consultation room, kitchen, sterilization area and a lab. Our office has a full basement where extra supplies, washer, dryer, evacuation unit, amalgam separator and are compressors are placed.

The staff is great. They are very friendly and energetic, and are a tremendous asset to the practice. I never have staff issues like so many offices. We run a light-hearted, professional office, but work hard at a fast pace.

There are opportunities for significant growth. Hiring a hygienist or two would allow the best opportunity for this, as well as advertising. A young dentist would also draw more patient families than I would as an older dentist.

After more than forty years of dental practice, I still love going to work each day. However, recent health concerns necessitate that I sell my practice now. I am a motivated seller. It will be a great opportunity to step into an ongoing highly successful practice
