I was seen by Dr. Ogata, who was very gentle and sensitive to her patients' needs. She took the time to show my x-rays and close-up photos of my teeth and gums. She explained to me what was happening, so it was very clear what I needed to get done. I would suggest her to anyone!.
She is always kind and personable and you feel trusting of her always! She is intelligent experienced and knows what she is doing She is amazing!.

I went Emma Wu to get an estimate for implants. It cost me over $650.00 to get that estimate. It turned out that I could get the implants for $7,000 less at another dentist. The staff was very courteous and the services may be exceptional. But be prepared to spend at least $650.00 for an implant estimate. I had to give a rating in order to submit this review, but I have no idea regarding the quality of service..
I had an appointment for June 17, 2020 for a consultation. While talking to the secretary Francine we mentioned we had dental insurance and she said that most insurances do not cover this procedure. We called our Dental Insurance and they said they we do have a benefit but need a pre estimate. I chose All-On-4 X-rays were taken by the assistant and Dr. Wu walked in the examination room.She came in to check my X-rays and gave me an oral exam. After she answered questions about the process I asked how much was it would be and she informed me in order to complete the consultation she needed a cone X-ray. She said that if I went to Lawrence General Hospital it would cost over a 1,000 and she could do it in the office for $450 but I would have to pay up front before it could be done and it had to be done now to determine if I needed bone grafts which would be more costly. I felt pressured but i was there because I was serious about it. I was willing to provide all the information she needed to help me. She sent Francine in for added pressure and to retrieve our credit card for the charge. The X-ray took a few minutes. Dr Wu came back in and said yes I had enough bone to have the procedure, but she wanted me to pay for four denture implants and bottom denture up front before any work will be done. Because in the past others have started the procedure but decided not to complete it and she has lost money. We asked what the procedure would cost and she couldn't give us an exact number but it could be in excess of $32,000 and up. We requested her to submit it to our dental insurance for a prestimate. Dr Wu walked us out of the examination room to the secretary Francine and handed her my record. Francine asked us if we were leaning either way! Did I really want it done. If I did, she wanted payment then. We told her we were here and we did pay the unexpected charge for an Cone X-ray that I was interested but, I would prefer her to send to my dental a pre estimate and would make a decision then. She said she would send out the estimate immediately. She put some undue pressure on us to make a decision right away but, we felt uncomfortable not knowing what the costs were and that we would have to pay up front. We are both retired and we are very careful with our money living on a tight budget.That was in June! Over a month went by and my wife called our Dental plan and they had not received a pre estimate from Amy Wu's office. She called Dr Wu's office spoke to someone and they told her Francine would give her a call. That was on a Thursday ( July 16,2020) and did receive a phone call from Francine until the following Monday.(July, 21,2020)She asked my wife to remind her of what my needs were. My wife told her but thought that she should of known. She also asked my wife if I was going to be interested in having dentures on the top as well. We had not talked about having anything done except the bottom. Asked her why the estimate wasn't sent in and she said that she is not a clinician only Dr. Wu can write it up it wasn't in her job description and Dr. Wu didn't finish writing it up until that day and she will send it in today. My wife mentioned to her that on June 16, 2020 after the first appointment Francine told us would send it immediately but that didn't happen. As my wife was talking she was talking over her and over her and did not listen. She repeated that she was not a clinician and that is not her responsibility only Dr. Wu can do that. We were frustrated! We asked her to please send it out as soon as possible that I was having problems with my dental plates and it was difficult to eat. They didn't really care about me just what money they could get from from me. She said she will send it out today! It's almost been 4 months later ( October 19, 2020) and we haven't heard anything from Dr. Wu's office about an estimate. I did receive an Explanation of benefits for the consultation and she sent on June 17, 2020 and received $285..
Dr Emma Wu and her staff are a great team. I would recommend this practice to anybody if you want good Dental work done. Francine at the front desk helped to get financing for all the dental work I am having done and so far I am very pleased. I look and feel like a new person. This has been a very good experience..
