The entire experience was horrible to say the least. First off the orientation was very short and not very informative. The day before my appointment I received a call from Dr. Offenburgers office, asking to reschedule my appointment. I asked why it needed to be rescheduled and the secretary said she did not know why. I wasn't asking for specific information, but if there was a family emergency or if he was ill then I could understand. She said she could reschedule me for the following day. I was not happy with this idea, because my boyfriend and I had already scheduled time off work, and this was less than 24 hours notice. I told her I would have to call her back. I was furious to say the least. I was debating on going with another surgeon, but I didn't want to have to wait any longer to have my teeth extracted and have to pay for another consultation. I received a call back from Greg Offenburger's office saying that they could "work me in" for the original date at a later time...despite the fact that I had scheduled for 9am weeks in advance. I said I would take it. The day of the appointment the staff made several off hand remarks about how they worked me in and how the Doctor had already done his normal days work. They acted as if they were doing me a favor even though I was originally scheduled to be one of the first of the day.. This made me feel uneasy. During the surgery I could hear them talking and could feel pressure on the mouth, but I didn't feel pain. After I woke up they informed me that I had received a cut under my lip during surgery that required stitches! The doctor said he did not know what happened and suggested that I had bit my own lip. It was a diagonal wound, about 1/4 in from the left to the right. After the anesthesia started to wear off I looked at the wound. It did not seem possible that I had bit myself by the looks of the wound. I took several pictures the Sunday after the surgery. I was supposed to go back for a check up the next Thursday. I did not feel comfortable going back so I decided to call my dental hygienist and ask her for her opinion. I asked them not to refer any other patients to him and told them my story. They scheduled me for the follow up within a few days. She seemed very disturbed by everything that happened. She took out the stitches, took a picture and wrote up a report. She told me to use vitamin e on the cut and didn't think there were any other complications. She told me to come in 2 weeks so she have see how my cut and mouth were healing. This is a true story and I have the pictures to prove it! I will never recommend him to anyone! I should have listened to my gut...now I'm going to have a scar on my face for the rest of my life because I went to Greg Offenburger and I can't really do anything about it...
