Dr Hoffmaster was one of the best if not the best dentist that I have ever been with. Very helpful for my solution and got my problem fixed in no time. Offered many treatment options for my liking! Very outstanding experience in the end and will be going back for my next appointment!.
I've been going to this dentist since 2003. Initially he was ok service and price wise. Year after year, he got greedier, and prices got higher as higher. Last year, I setup an appointment for my wife who was pregnant. Once she got there, she was refereed to another dentist and they still charge close to $100 for no service all all: a ripoff. At Botis office, everyone spends more time talking (blah blah) than doing any dental work. As a client for many years, I forgot to make a payment, instead.
I have been seeing Dr Hoffmaster for approx. 20 years. I have never had an issue with the service provided by his office..
Personable and professional. Dr. Hoffmaster clearly knows what he's doing and communicates it well. He also listens very carefully and responds helpfully and completely. I was impressed that he offered multiple solutions to the same issue, each with its carefully explained tradeoffs and costs..
I love Alpha Dental! All the staff members are great. As soon as you walk in someone is greeting you with a genuine smile. Pat and Michael are hygienists I see frequently, they're both great, and Dr. Reisner? He's just as great! He's funny and very comforting. I've been coming here for 10+ years, and the service and atmosphere have always been the same- it's great and the place is so clean and tidy. By the way, you'll never see more than 2 patients waiting in the waiting room..
On Wednesday night I had a severe tooth ache. Anyone who has experienced this knows the pain is brutal. I got no sleep at all. First thing Thursday morning I call Dr Backiewicz's office. I tell them that I have an emergency and would like to be seen. I get an appointment for 11:30am (earliest I can be seen). I get there and the dental hygienist asked where the pain was and does an x-ray and leaves out of the room. She comes back after a few minutes and says Dr Backiewicz will be in soon. He arrives after a few minutes. He uses a mirror and the little tool that is sharp at the end and looks at my tooth for about 25 seconds. He never looks at the x ray but I can bet that my insurance will get a bill for that. His exact words were "make sure you spend a little extra time flossing between the last back two teeth, take some Motrin and use Listerine." As I mentioned I am in excruciating pain and I know something is wrong so I wanted to ask more questions. I asked him were my gums swollen. He tells the dental hygienists just some Motrin and walks out. He never answers my question. The dental hygienist says "you're all set." I'm thinking - What!!? Had he asked me questions he would have known that I had been taking extra strength Tylenol all night and it had not been working. Something is wrong. We all know when something is not right with our bodies. I asked the dental hygienist would he be giving me a prescription for the Motrin and she had to go find him to ask him because of course he had already jetted out of the room. She comes back and she says said no just get it at the drug store. I am in so much pain at this point I am willing to try anything. I run to Walgreens and buy Motrin and Listerine praying that it works. Needless to say it does not work. Something is wrong and I know it is. All day Thursday I am in pain. Friday I am still in pain. I call Dr Backiewicz's office again and I tell them that Motrin and Listerine are not working. The office manager tells me that we are only here another 30 minutes (they leave early on Friday) so there is nothing that we can do for you now and due to the Memorial Day holiday we won't be back until Tuesday. I am almost in tears at this point. She then tells me to go to urgent care and see what they can do. I was in their office on Thursday and they did absolutely nothing but she is telling me to go to urgent care. At this point it is clear this lady does not care one bit. She is looking forward to her long weekend and really doesn't have time for my problems. By Friday night I can no longer take it. I call 1-800 DENTIST to see if there is a 24 hour dentist in my area and of course there are none. Long story short I found a dentist that took me early Saturday morning. Dr Gerda from Fixari Family Dental in Canal Winchester is amazing! She quickly analyzed my issue - sinus infection that she said was clearly there and an easy fix. She prescribed my an antibiotic and pain meds and in a matter of 2 hours I was feeling better. She gave me her cell phone number and said if I am not improving to please call her. New Albany Family Dentistry showed no concern for me. Dr Backiewicz is too busy and does not have the time to take to thoroughly investigate what an issue may be to give the proper diagnosis. To top the whole thing off - I called Tuesday morning and cancelled all of my appointments (cleaning every 6 months and fillings that I later found out that I don't need) with New Albany Family Dentistry because I will for sure never step foot in this place again and the office manager never asked me why I was cancelling. I asked her to cancel every single appointment and she said "ok we will get you taken care of." Total lack of concern. Stay far away from this place! On Wednesday night I had a severe tooth ache.
