My recent experience with the disfunctional CHS healthcare system : I go to the doctor for an annual physical and am told by multiple people at CHS including the doctor that my physical will be 100% covered by insurance. Weeks later I get a bill for $400 with line items including "surgery". I contest the bill and request another review and they still stick me with the $400 charge saying it's accurate. Turns out the doctor charged a total of $800 to my insurance company for a 10-15 minute physical and listed a surgery as part of the write up. Total deception. If they're going to try and squeeze something into the doctors notes that's false and without the patient's knowledge for an item that they know isn't going to be covered by insurance then that's a deceptive and unfair practice. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
