I did not have a bad experience during my cleanings, but I feel tricked from an insurance perspective. I recently moved back to Charlotte and was looking for a new dentist. I asked two questions when I called - are you taking new patients and are you in my network (BCBS SC). I was told that the office was in network. I only had a basic cleaning, no issues, and I was still billed for some of the visit. I thought that odd because I had never had to pay toward a cleaning in the past. I called my insurance and found out that the office was not in network. I had just transferred records over as well and now I have to find a new dentist because I was misinformed. When I brought this up to the billing department, all I was told was "sorry." I think they should have to pay the portion of my bill that was not covered by insurance for providing me incorrect information.
