I had been going to Dr skaff from the time I was 13 to 20 i had my husband going to him, and our son. He had always done a decent job but the last time I went i was very upset. I went in scheduled for a filling. He lays me back, and starts drilling in the back left side of my mouth on one of my upper teeth. Well about 30 minutes later I'm wondering what could possibly be taking him so long to fill one tooth. I'm trying g to ask him but my mouth was pried open and I was feeling allot of pain as I start struggling he says \" hold still I'm almost done with the root canal\". I was in shock. Because not only had i already had 1 tooth extracted to avoid a root canal against his recorecommendations but he did not ask me he just assumed he would do it then tell me about it later, and at the time I had a medical card which would not pay for a crown to go over the tooth he had done the root canal on and I could not afford to pay for it. He also knew that my insurance would not cover it before doing the procedure because he told me that he would schedule an appointment for the crown but that the insurance may deny it and if so than there's nothing he could do. Now a year later my tooth is giving me allot of problems it hurts when I eat on that side and the tooth is lose. Even if the amount of damaged was \"more then he thought\" he should have got my permission first because my answer would have still been no. Pull it. But he made that choice for me.
