How Patients Feel
POSITIVEPatient Reviews
2When I made my appointment, I clearly stated that I wanted both a regular cleaning & check-up for the same date. They booked an appointment, affirming that my appointment was for both, but once I was in the chair, I was advised that the appointment was only the first of a four-part process: (1) the check-up and x-rays, (2) the cleaning, (3) the consultation about the x-rays, & (4) any follow-up dental work (e.g., fillings, root canals). I find this process unorthodox and unprofessional for at least three reasons: First, if this is their procedure, they should be upfront about it upon booking. And certainly not advise me otherwise only once I am in the chair and after explicitly stating that it would be for both the check-up and cleaning. Second, in whose best interest would it be to have a four-part process? The dentistâs or the clientâs? Finally, the check-up was a non-stop list of all the things wrong. This seemed really odd because I've always had great teeth and almost all dentists have commented on this. So how could I possibly have that many things wrong (and this was before the x-rays were taken)? Especially since my last cleaning was only 6 months ago, and I was given a clean bill of health.
