Will never take another one of my children here.His bedside manner is not very , and his staff is downright awful.Were in such a rush they broke a wire in my daughters mouth 3 times, causing her pain.Were taking a of her teeth and held her down while she chocked. Take your money elsewhere..
He's not personable, bed side manner needs some work, no eye contact. Don't go on a hot day , they have no air conditioning. We were 10 minutes late for an apt and were told to reschedule even though we drove 45 minutes to get there but were then offered an hour and a half wait to be worked in..
Dr. Vargas did a root canal and crown in December of 2009. This never felt right. When I would tell her she would adjust my bite. Finally in 2010 the crown came off and she just glued it back on with no treatment. She prescribed antibiotics and said she hoped that the tooth did not leak otherwise I will get an infection and it would spread and she would have to reopen and re pack. It looks like the infection did not happen, however the discomfort was still there and she again would just adjust the bite. Finally about 2 weeks ago I was in pain and went to see her. She prescribed antibiotics and said that if this did not help she would have to open up the tooth and re treat since it may be infected from when the crown came off in 2010. I took the antibiotics and it helped, however this past Sunday 7/21/13, the crown came off again and I called her to tell her. She sent me to a specialist to evaluate the root canal before recapping. When I went to specialist on 7/23/13, he said that I still have an Infection and that I needed re-treatment. Here I thought I would not have to pay a cent for this since the work was not done right the first time. I was told that I need to pay him for re-treatment $271. And when I called my dentist office to tell her I did not feel I had to pay, they told me that I also need to pay her $679 for crown and post. That is was only that amount because they have a 4 year warranty on the crown so I would only have to pay 50% of the crown. When they saw how upset I was they offered to cut the cost in half and pay only $373 to them and the $271 to root specialist. I am really upset that I have to pay twice for the same root canal and crown. I feel she should take responsibility for it and I told her so but she will not. I do not feel comfortable going back to her and run the chance to have this happen again plus I feel that she should not get paid twice for the same treatment. If I go to another dentist I will have to pay full price for crown since insurance will only replace after 5 years. I am going to have to pay full price and appeal to insurance to see if they will pay but chances are slim. I want to report her because I do not want her to do this to others I want to let people know about her. I will say that her staff is great the hygienist do a great job and are very nice. Dr. Vargas was performing a routine cleaning for me and saw a stain on a tooth. When she saw the stain, she indicated to her assistant that it MAY BE a cavity and wanted to schedule me for a filling. Shocked, since I've never had a cavity in my 30 years, I asked what does that mean? She said they would drill into my tooth and replace with a filling. I finished up and left. After talking with my husband, we decided I needed a second opinion since it only MAY BE a cavity. BEST decision EVER!! The next Dentist saw the stain, indicated it may be a cavity, but that we would watch it and re-evaluate at my next visit.
