How Patients Feel

8I\'ve seen Dr. Kirk three times over the past 4 years: twice to remove a tooth and once (last wk) for an implant. He did an outstanding job on both tooth extractions. I had a horrible experience with the implant. I\'ve previously had 2 implants (with a different oral surgeon) and numerous root canals, and last wk was BY FAR the most painful dental procedure I\'ve ever had. I don\'t know if Dr. Kirk didn\'t wait long enough before he started and/or didn\'t give me enough pain killer (he gave me 2 shots), but I could feel him slice and spread my gum and begin to insert the implant into the bone. After maybe 1-2 mins that felt like an eternity I started moaning and motioning for him to stop. He gave me 1 or 2 more shots, which finally numbed the pain. However, the procedure took longer than expected (he had to repair the bone graft by my dentist), so by the time he began to put stitches in my gum the numbing was starting to wear off.
