4I went to see Dr. Louis and I had jaw surgery and my jaw will never be the same. It is a long story but I had to have a surgery revision because of a serious complication that left me with plates and screws in my jaw. I was extremely disappointed and discouraged by the whole process and that Dr. Louis did not seem to be aggressive enough in helping me get my range of motion back in addition to the complication. For over a year, I could not open my mouth past a certain point. I was not able to open wide enough to even get two fingers in my mouth. I finally gave up on Dr. Louis and went to Vanderbilt. Thank you God for Vanderbilt and the doctors there. Had I known then what I know now, I would have gone there from the start. They have oral surgeons there who take in hopeless jaw causes from and they are on the cutting edge of new procedures and surgeries in the jaw department. I've had two additional surgeries there and I finally can open my mouth wider than I ever have in over two years. I can eat/chew steak again!!!! My advise and from my own personal experience : if you have serious jaw issues that require major jaw surgery (not minor procedures done in office), go to Vanderbilt.
