Susan G 1 star 04/12/2023 Sampson Dental Group has unethical office practices. I had appointment and was told I needed additional work. The front office asked if I wanted to make an appointment so I said yes. I was then handed a sheet of paper and was told that their offices requires co-pays to be paid ahead of the appointment. I thought this was weird but said okay. I glanced at the figures on the paper and signed so they could charge my credit card. I assumed that was what my signature was for. At NO TIME did any of the staff in the office tell me that this prepayment was non-refundable. It's in the fine print on the treatment plan page. The appointment was made for 7 days in the future. Two days later, I had misgivings about the office and their practices so I called and cancelled the appintment. This was 4 days in advance of the appointment. When I called, I was told that my co-pay would NOT be refunded to me. That it was their "policy" to not refund prepayments. It is MY policy not to pay for goods/services I don't receive. So.....I cancelled the appointment - what if the dental group slotted another patient into that time frame - does that mean the group makes double money for that time slot? Isn't that illegal? Certainly unethical. I do not recommend this dental group at all. Plus, they did not provide HIPA papers..
Came back to after having an insurance change with my job. Previous wait times were longer. Had someone with little experience for my first visit. She seemed very nervous taking my X-rays. Was told I needed a procedure and would have to make another appointment to get it done. Made another appointment for about a month out but ask to be put on the wait list to move it up. I was able to get back within a week. Upon re-exam, I did not truly need the more expensive procedure. Thanks so much..
Dr. Wheeler and staff are always super nice and genuinely care about your teeth..
I came to Dr Wheeler after a couple of bad experiences with an infected tooth that needed a root canal. I have a fear of dentists and low pain tolerance. Dr. Wheeler and her assistant Lori were very gentle and explained everything in detail. There were issues with my tooth (no fault of Dr Wheeler's) that required another surgical procedure but she is persistent (and a little OCD) and got it done right. And with almost no pain..
Excellent Today I went into to have a a bridge put back on from a previous dentist 2 ½ years ago. This bridge always felt odd to say the least. Well oh so nicely I found out why, it was not made or fitted correctly. They were so good at explaining everything. I can honestly say that the temporary feels better and looks better than the one I had. They do awesome work! I would highly recommend Northstar Dental to everyone that I know. I totally trust the care I receive from everyone in the office. What a friendly upbeat office, I always leave with a laugh about something!!! I have had more than my share of dental work in the last 50 years in many different states and cities. Northstar would be the best in all of those 50 years. Rochelle Johnson.
