I went here with my daughter to try a new dentist since our one in Yucca Valley is always backed up. We had a cleaning and check-up due for both of us, and our insurance covers them 100%. Oddly, I got a bill from Harmony Dental for my part and hers that they claimed my insurance did not cover. This was strange since this had never happened to me in the last 20 years I have had my insurance. So, of course, I called them to inquire about the bill, and I was told that they would send it back to my insurance company to try and collect it. I waited a few weeks and heard nothing back. So I called my insurance company to inquire about this, of course. I was told that Harmony Dental had billed for a check-up, cleaning, bitewing x-rays, and panoramic x-rays....well that was odd since I do not recall getting a panoramic x-ray done, and they do not have that machine in their office. When I called Harmony Dental back, they told me my insurance company lied. They never billed for a bitewing, only a panoramic, and then called their digital bitewing a panoramic x-ray...which it is not. In all the years I have gone to a dentist, I have only had a panoramic X-ray done once, and that was before my jaw surgery. So I know what they are used for and what they look like. Lisa told me to disregard it, and they would just drop it, but I know what I had done, and the fact that I am being treated like some idiot annoys me. I will not be back to see this dentist, and I will be sure to share my experience with friends so they don't make the same mistake..
Its a new and clean office, the front desk girls are nice, the Doctor is very helpful and nice. The prices are very reasonable..
I went into Palm Canyon Dental Office in Palm Springs to make appointment to have deep teeth cleaning. I was told they had a cancellation and could do it now. I was told they would examine me and take xrays while they contact my insurance for approval for the deep cleaning. While I was with the dentist, the receptionist walked in and said" you already had an approval for deep cleaning for a different dentist". I said as far as I know I wasn't approved for that and I no longer want to have that dental office for my dentist. They then xray my teeth. I was told I needed to put in writing that I wanted to transfer all approvals to their office and cancel all approvals for the former office. So there was no cleaning of my teeth that day. I contact my insurance at home. I was told that they no longer require a written signed notice to change approval from one dental office to another. The most disturbing thing was I was told the deep cleaning approval for the previous dental clinic, had expire 2 and half months ago on 5/1/23. I was told if they would have contacted them for an approval, they would have granted it based on the previous approval being expired anyway. I wasted my time and now will need all new xrays and appointment at a different dentist. All I can tell is the receptionist doesn't know what she is doing and its obvious she doesn't care about their business making money. You can't rely on this dental office knowing how to bill or request approvals from insurance. Avoid Palm Canyon Dental unless you have lots of time to waste..
