Significant inconsistencies with their fees. Gave a quote of their fees; after exam fees were significantly higher....lacks integrity. Had to wait 6 months to get in elsewhere due to insurance....lost a tooth due to the delay and problems..
Difficulties with getting assistance. Appointments are extremely long..
Intelligent, detailed and patient..
When went into the office it was like a ghost town. No one was there so I had to leave a note for someone to call me back. When the receptionist called me back of coarse I had some questions about transferring medical records from my previous Dentist in Bradenton. The receptionist did not answer any of my questions, in fact she interrupted me several times stating that my past medical records would not be of use. She also informed me that she would not ask her manager and/or doctor if my previous X-rays would be needed. She said that every practice works differently and that this practice would not like me as a client after I was persistent about the doctor being able to view my previous records. I could not believe how badly I was treated and spoken to. I should not have let her get under my skin the way she did however this all could have been avoided if she had just offered to ask her manager or doctor advice on how to handle this particular situation. If I'm going to spend a grand on a dentist's labor, I expect all of my questions to be addressed and my situation to be assessed before I even set up an appointment..
Me, my husband, my neighbors have all been going to Dr. Allen for about 20 years - This guy is the TOPS. He's done magic tricks of cutting teeth out around bridges, tooth extractions, great diagnosis and his calming effect is wonderful. Everyone we know loves Dr. Allen. A tooth cleaning should not take 45 minutes unless there's something definitely wrong with your teeth. AND having gone up to Sarasota and getting a specialists quotes, Dr. Allen is very very reasonable and does marvelous work..
Having recently arrived in the Venice, Florida area, this was my first attempt to find a compatible dentist. Upon arriving at the office for a cleaning I waited about 30 minutes beyond my appointment time. The cleaning was about average to average minus. Normally, I expect a cleaning to take approximately 45 minutes; this one took about 25 minutes. As I was a new patient, the doctor gave me a D0150 Initial Examination/Comprehensive examination. I was definitely not impressed. The comprehensive exam lasted about six minutes and comprised mainly of checking the mobility of some of the teeth. Next came the billing, the cleaning was $ 70.00 which is the going rate. The examination was $ 55.00, which at the level at which it was performed is a gross overcharge. .
